Ares 5 is a PIPE DREAM. It's complete vaporware that will never get funded or built. Without Ares 5, we'll never do anything on the Moon or Mars - and maybe that's what NASA wants? Maybe they think we just need something to shuttle people to the ISS? I don't think NASA wants to do any human space exploration. <br><br>All private space will do is, lower prices, increase competition, reaction speed, and performance - and that scares the Boeings and Grummans TO DEATH. Of course they're going to lay on congress to thwart private space at every turn, they don't want to loose those cushy government contracts! Just look at what they did to Paul Breed when he tried to make his own Hydrogen Peroxide plant. Blackballed at every turn.<br><br>This is why SpaceX is important.
